Loan Payments Made Easy with Message Pay!


When it’s time to make your loan payment, we make it easy! With Message Pay, you can make your payment to Advantage Credit Union from any external (non-ACU) account. Using your electronic device of your choosing, you can make the payment in just a few clicks of a mouse or by responding to a text message!

Here’s How it Works:

What you should know:

  • You will receive a text message informing you of your upcoming loan payment due date and amount due. You can respond to the text message to set up your payment and create your account (for first-time users) or reply “Stop” to opt-out of future messages.

    First-time users will be taken to a page that has them verify their identity and set up a 4-digit PIN.

  • Preferred method of payment: To make a payment, you will need to add your preferred form of payment into the portal. You do this by selecting, “Add New Debit Card or Add New Bank Account” which will prompt you to a secure site to input your information. If done correctly, there will be a message stating ‘Payment Method Success’ and you will be redirected to the payment portal.

  • Once your account has been successfully verified, you will be directed to the payment portal where you’ll be able to see all of your loans and will also be able to select your preferred payment method.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Can I make a payment through my online banking or mobile app? You can make a payment on your loan through your Advantage Credit Union online banking or mobile app. Follow the instructions in online banking to make a payment. There is no fee to make a payment through your ACU account.

  • Are there ways to avoid paying a $7.99 convenience fee? Absolutely! Members can use a variety of payment methods including several automatic payment options as well as Account to Account transfers (A2A) if you are making a payment from an external account. Call our loan department and we can help you get everything set up.

  • If I opt out of receiving text messages will I still be able to pay my loans online?
    Yes, you will have to access the payment portal through our website or online and mobile banking. However, you will not receive any text notifications regarding payment reminders and will not be able to make a payment via text message.

    How can I pay my account via text message?
    Once you receive a text reminder, you respond “Pay” to the same text. You will be asked to enter your pin to verify your account, once you have completed this process your payment will be complete and you should receive a confirmation text. NOTE: you will have to setup a 4 digit pin and preferred method of payment prior to using text payments if you have not already done so.
