Our History

At Advantage Credit Union, we treat our members like they own the place because they do!

Come join a part of something great! Advantage Credit Union membership is available to anyone who lives or works in Jasper County or 18 other counties in Central Iowa. In 1937, 14 individuals signed the articles of incorporation to form a credit union then called Local 1116 UERMWA Credit Union. The credit union started from small beginnings with member-owners pooling their savings together so that other members could borrow money.

Over 80 years later, Advantage Credit Union is open to employees and residents of 19 Iowa counties. While the balance sheet is now much more complicated and diverse, the credit union is still structured on the same foundation that it was in 1937 with our members being the only owners and pooling their resources to meet savings and lending needs as well as a wide array of other modern products and services.
